It gives me great pleasure to note on this occasion the 3rd IFAF World Championships 2007 will be held in the City of Kawasaki. Up to now, the Kawasaki Stadium, known as one of the most prominent activity bases for American football in Eastern Japan, has hosted a number of distinguished football matches. As the host city of this international celebration, it is our mission to make every effort possible to gain more momentum and popularity for American football as a competitive sport in our city in ensuring the lasting success and positive impact of the 3rd IFAF World Championships, such that they do not end as a one-time event. Through the promotion and hosting of this tournament, we wish to add vitality and energy to our communities as well as further expand our city into a prestigious, central base of activities for American football in all of Japan. The Kawasaki Station area is known as a lively neighborhood that calls home to a number of large commercial establishments and entertainment centers, including an extensively large shopping complex-LAZONA Kawasaki plaza-, MUZA Kawasaki Symphony Hall and a cinema complex, La Cittadella. Beside these recreation and leisure options, the City of Kawasaki also offers rich, attractive natural surroundings including the Tama River and Tama Hills that bring peace and relaxation to its residents and visitors. I sincerely invite all of you to come join us in Kawasaki in the 3rd IFAF World Championships 2007 in celebration of American football and discover for yourself the many points of interest that our city has to offer. |
